Welcome! I’m The EckMan (otherwise known as Dave Eck) and I love working with data! I’m a dedicated consultant specializing in SQL Server database administration, with extensive experience in managing and optimizing complex database systems, automation of complex manual tasks and performing ETL conversions of all sizes. Over the years, I’ve worked with a plethora of different systems and worn multiple hats – as a DBA, DBE, application developer, and system admin – giving me a well-rounded perspective on all things data.

• SQL Server DBA: I have a deep understanding of SQL Server architecture, performance tuning, high availability, and disaster recovery. Managing and maintaining database systems is second nature to me.
• ETL Conversions: Transforming and migrating data is an art, and I’ve been part of numerous ETL projects ranging from small simple data moves to large complex moves involving custom programming to break apart and merge pages in billions of pdf and image documents. All ETL projects require careful planning, execution, and validation. My experience ensures data integrity and smooth transitions.
• Database Engineer: Performance optimization, data integrity, scalability, ease of maintenance, compatibility with business requirements, security and compliance and support for advanced features are just some of the things that need to be considered when developing a database for a new application. I have been an integral part of new database design for many large and small scale applications.
• PowerShell Proficiency: Automation is key in today’s IT landscape, and PowerShell is one of my go-to tools. Whether it’s scripting administrative tasks or developing complex workflows, I leverage PowerShell to save time and reduce errors.
• C# Development: I’m comfortable writing and debugging C# code, often incorporating it into my solutions to build robust applications and integrations.
